7. Throttle and Brakes
During the motorcycle ride, you will need to use some controls that will allow you to accelerate or slow down. On your right side, there is a grip, and if you twist it down, you will be able to use the throttle. This function is pretty sensitive, so be careful when using it, because if you revving the engine, this can lead to accidents and instability.
In addition to this control, on the right side, there is a lever with which you control the front brakes. This function can be known to you if you used to ride a bicycle because the principle is the same. So, similarly, as with the previous function, here it is also important that you have the sense and that you are not doing anything suddenly. If you press a lever too much, the brakes can be locked and in this way, you can cause an accident, which is certainly not your goal. Also, depending on your bike and the braking system on it, you may be able to use only two fingers to do the braking, while on some models you may need to use the whole hand for the same procedure.
Another brake control is on the right side. However, you control this one with your right foot and in that way, you apply the rear brakes. The beginner can find the front and rear brakes difficult because it maybe doesn’t know which one to use. According to experts, the best effect is achieved by using the rear brake first, and then by using a front brake slowly. However, effective braking again depends on the type of motorcycle you drive. For example, if you are driving a sports machine, it will be probably enough to use the front brake, but if you have a cruiser motorcycle, there are more chances that most of the time, you will use the rear brakes.
